Pangea Day is Here!!!

On May 10, 2008 – Pangea Day – people all over the world will come

together to share a common experience: watching films made by the

world for the world. We like to call it the first global campfire.

•Pangea Day is a 4-hour live broadcast featuring powerful films,

visionary speakers, and inspiring music that will reach millions through

the Internet, television, digital cinemas, and mobile phones.

•Award-winning documentary filmmaker Jehane Noujaim created

Pangea Day after winning the prestigious TED Prize, which grants

winners "one wish to change the world."

•Jehane's wish: "To bring the world together through the power of

film. The first step toward world peace is to meet the other."

Pangea Day's purpose is to tap the power of film to strengthen tolerance and compassion while uniting millions of people to build a better future (the "Purpose"). To achieve this Purpose, Pangea Day is organizing a global event that will feature films broadcast live from various locations throughout the world.
